Lovey seems like she's never going to be happy with herself. She is never going to be happy with what she is. She comes from a very different place and the new people around her expect her to stay within her own cultural traits. Which include being able to look and act Japanese. She wants to be able to fit in but her self conciousness is going to get to her to her because she wants to be perfect in other people's eyes.

ReplyDeleteIt's good that you bring up that people around her are expecting her to stay within her own culture. Her wanting to be perfect in the eyes of other people would make her self conscious. You make good points, nice blog!
ReplyDeletei know i cut and pasted this same response, but as far as the subject is concerned, it needed to be said... no matter what you do, you will never be able to MAKE any one like you period. there are too many insecurities and fears preventing people from being who they really are. people think that if they act one way, they will receive a result. while this may be true, any act a person puts on is exhausting, insincere, and confusing. when you step back, you will realize all the relationships in your life are a facade. just be yourself no matter what and don't let the idea of meeting approval fog the relationship between you and yourself. learn to love yourself, and everyone who loves you will love you for who you are, and those are the only people worth being around. there is nothing in anyone else that makes them cooler, better, smarter, etc. it all comes from how you perceive yourself and not how others perceive you..... ReplyDeleteYeah, basically what makes a person happy is satisfaction of everything he/she have.Her cultural background?She should be proud of where she came from. and also she shouldn't be more concerned about pleasing people just to fit in. good points.
